The Community Council has been made aware of the increasing amount of dog faeces that dog owners are leaving in the Memorial Field and to a lesser extent in the Small Children’s Play Area. This has been reported to the Vale Council and they will be arranging extra visits by their Enforcement Officer.
It is important that dog owners take responsibility for their dogs, particularly in areas where children play. No dogs are allowed in the Small Children’s Play Area and there are notices advising dog owners of this.
Toxocariasis is an infection caused by roundworm parasites most commonly found in cats and dogs. Humans can catch it from handling soil or sand contaminated with infected animal faeces. Young children are more commonly affected when they play and put their hands in their mouths.
