Llanmaes Community Council is currently looking at potential traffic calming measures for the village. We will be working with the Police and the Vale of Glamorgan Council.
At present we would like to ask residents to provide any information regarding traffic accidents, incidents, near misses, or just to report any instances of concern regarding traffic in and around the village in the last five years. We would also like to hear suggestions from residents regarding your views on traffic-calming measures (these could range from the speed limit in the village, the installation of vehicle pinch-points, sleeping policemen/speed bumps, etc.). The information from residents will be used to support any case to be presented to the Police and the Vale Council and to also ensure any suggestions made by the Llanmaes Community Council are in-line with the views of residents.
Please can you respond to the questionnaire below, in order for us to gather information. Any responses will be treated in the strictest confidence. Additionally, we would like to stress the importance of reporting any concerning traffic incidents and near misses to the Police and to the Community Council when they occur.
Please complete the questionnaire by 19th December 2021.
From 1st December on the run up to Christmas, many houses in the village have agreed to light up a window of their house on each day of the month. Each householder who has agreed to take part has decided which day of the month they will choose to light up
The Advent window showing the number (date) must be clearly visible.
A map is being drawn up showing which houses are taking part in the Advent window reveal.
We are suggesting the window is lit and revealed at around 6pm so the children can take part before bedtime and the host can offer festive drinks, mince pies or sweeties if they would like to
We thought that after the dreadful 18 months we’ve all endured and our ‘lockdown’ Christmas last year we wanted to make Christmas 2021 one to be remembered for all
There are still a few windows left to decorate so if you are interested in this event please get in touch with
Jackie Wright 07976 698325 or 01446 796605
